A note about the puzzle itself: I’ve seen some people report that they didn’t see anything special about the tower, while others claim that they found it quite difficult to solve. If you don’t want to waste too much time trying to figure it out, just use the hint given above.
Chelona’s Rise puzzle
The second part of the puzzle is the chelonas themselves. There are three of them, each on a different ledge, and they’re all pretty easy to spot once you’ve found the first turtle.
There are some good clues on where to look, but there’s no real way to know exactly where they are unless you already know what to look for. And even then, you might miss one because you didn’t see it.
You can jump up onto the ledge next to them, but you won’t be able to reach anything else. So you’ll just have to keep trying until you find the correct location.
Once you do, however, you’ll be rewarded with a treasure chest containing a piece of the Dark Moon.
First wise beast location – Elden Ring
The first wise beast is by FAR the easiest to obtain. You’ll find it hanging off the cliffside near the entrance to Elden Ring. Once you’ve got it, you’re free to turn it into a pet.
This one isn’t too difficult, but it does require climbing up a few steps to reach. If you want to make things easier, you can simply use a potion of agility to climb down the ledge.
Second wise beast location – Elden Ring
The second wise beast spawns in the Elden Ring area, which is located near the center of Act 3. To find it, make sure to follow the directions above. Once you are there, look around the base of the hill and you will notice some rocks that jut out slightly. These rocks form a small cave. Go inside and you will find the wise beast.
It is important to note that this wise beast does NOT drop anything useful, but it is still worth killing it just because it looks cool.
Third wise beast location – Elden Ring
The third wise beast is located in the Elden Ring, about halfway between Chelona’s Rise and the Evergaw. You must go through the spiritspring to reach it. Once you find it, you’ll see a tortoise floating in midair. Jump towards it, and you’ll hit it, causing a collision. After that, you’ll fall down into the area where Chelona’s Rise is located.
What to do if turtles aren’t spawning
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited players are reporting that while they are able to find turtle eggs, they are unable to hatch them into baby turtles. This is happening across multiple servers, including both US East and West regions. We’ve reached out to Zenimax Online Studios about the issue and will update accordingly.
In the meantime, here are some suggestions for what to do if you encounter this problem:
• If you see an egg, place it somewhere safe. Do NOT try to hatch it yourself.
• If you don’t want to risk losing the egg, you could use a console command to spawn a pet turtle nearby. You’ll have to wait a few minutes for it to reach full health, though.
• Resting at sites of grace doesn’t seem to help.
• Fast traveling won’t help either.
• Make sure you have enough gold saved up for the next quest, since you’ll need to buy food to feed the baby turtle.
• If you’re playing on PC, consider upgrading to the latest patch.
• And finally, you might want to keep an eye on Reddit for possible fixes.
